Outreach

VaCO takes its responsibility for Education and Outreach projects very seriously, as we know that encouraging younger generations in their music making is the only way to preserve our musical heritage. 

Where possible, VaCO courses try to include one afternoon working with school-age children to perform a short piece of music that is performed in the concert that evening.  VaCO Students become mentors for the children giving the children the opportunitiy to rehearse and perform with advanced young musicians, and showing the VaCO students the value and reward of education and outreach - something that we hope they will develop as professional musicians of the future. 

We have a number of exciting plans in store in future years to continue our work in the communities around Yorkshire, including a new initiative between VaCO and professional players from Manchester Camerata, check back for more details as this scheme develops.
