SOPHIE BARBER (Violin) – Founder member of the Barbican Trio and Goldberg Ensemble, Sophie went on to play with the City of London Sinfonia and the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, before becoming principal 2nd violin in the Philarhmonia Orchestra.  She is now a member of the London Chamber Orchestra and, after a period of further study on the classical and baroque violin, of L’Orchestre Romantique et Revolutionnaire. She also appears regularly with the English Baroque Soloists, the Florilegium Ensemble and the La Chambre Philharmonique in Paris

CLARA BISS (Violin) – Violinist with the world class chamber music group, Endymion, Clara has also played for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and as guest player with many orchestras and ensembles.

STEVE BURKE (Percussion) – Freelance player with several orchestras, Steve is one of the UK’s leading young professional percussionists. He is also an ex-member of VaCO)

EVA BUBLOVA (Violin/Viola) – Eva is a widely respected recitalist and soloist in the Czech Republic and is also a distinguished teacher at the Prague University, Conservatoire and Music School.

SCOTT DICKINSON (Viola) – Along with a varied and busy freelance career, Scott played viola with the renowned Leopold String Trio and is now principal Viola in the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

RIK GHESQUIERE (Trumpet/Cello) – Freelance conductor and Trumpet player with Belgian Radio Orchestra

TIM GRANT (Viola) – Tim is a former front desk viola player with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and also a former member of the Locrian String Quartet.

CARMINE LAURI (Violin) – Carmine is an eminent violinist who has recently been guest leading a number of orchestras including the London Philharmonic, the Rotterdam Philharmonic & the Manchester Camerata just to name a few.

LUCA MARZIALE (Violin) – Performs with the Orchestra of La Scala, Milan and in great demand as a freelance violinist with many orchestras in Florence and elsewhere in Italy.

PETER MASLIN (Violin) – Peter is co-leader of the English Northern Philharmonia – the Orchestra of Opera North.

RICHARD MUNCEY (Viola) – Freelance player with many orchestras and ensembles throughout the UK.

STEPHEN ORTON (Cello) – Principal Cellist with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, Steve is one of the UK’s leading chamber musicians and was for several years cellist with the Delme String Quartet.

MARTIN SKAMPA (Cello) – Founder of the renowned Skampa String Quartet, Martin has now left the Quartet to pursue his career as a an internationally renowned soloist and recitalist. He also teaches at the Prague Conservatoire and University.

ALEXANDRA PEAKE (Violin) – A former leader and soloist with VaCO, Alex was a member of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra until recently. She is now freelancing and teaching.

SALLY PENDLEBURY (Cello) - Sally Pendelbury has played guest principal with many British orchestras such as English Chamber Orchestra, Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia and is now Principal Cello with Opera North.

DAVID ROUTLEDGE (Violin) – Dave is the leader of Psappha, the renowned contemporary music ensemble, as well as being in great demand as a freelance violinist with many orchestras and ensembles.

LUCY RUSSELL (Violin) – A distinguished Baroque specialist, Lucy is leader of the Fitzwilliam String Quartet and also of Florilegium and the King’s Consort.

JON THORNE (Viola) – After a spell as viola with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Jon (a former member of VaCO) was a member of the Bronte String Quartet for several years. He is now viola with The Badke String Quartet as well as freelancing in and around London. He also teaches Viola at the Royal College of music and the Royal Welsh Academy of Music & Drama.

ANDRIY VIYTOVYCH (Viola) – A former principal viola with the Berlin Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra, Andriy is now principal with the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and also a teacher at the Royal College of Music.

WINFRIED WENZEL (Violin) – Winfried is professor of Violin at the Hochschule fur Musik, Munich and at Munich University.
